The 2009 Nissan Cube, A First Look

SP32-20081114-054122

With the LA Auto Show just around the corner, car enthusiasts from all over the US are getting excited.  Aside from the excitement for the event, this is mostly because this year, a few cars for the coming year will be unveiled.

One of the sure scene stealers in next week’s show will be the Nissan show area where they will reveal for the first time in the US, the “evolutionary” redesign of the Z.  Called 370 Z, fans everywhere are waiting to see the car in person and maybe have the chance to tinker in the driver’s seat or to take a peak at what’s under its hood.  The design of the Z is not something of a secret with a computer generated version playable on the game Need for Speed Underground and with a lot of leaked photos online.  Promised to have considerably more performance and a visual stimulus beyond today’s Z, this car is something a lot of drivers are waiting for.

Here’s one of the first live photos of the car.

Though the Nissan 370 Z, is sure to become a crowd favorite, Nissan is also set to unveil something more interesting in next weeks auto show.  With virtually no pictures available yet on its site, Nissan plans to also introduce the 2009 US version of the Japanese Nissan Cube.  Youtube TV ads of the Cube are available as well as pictures of the 2008 version of it.  Still, Nissan promises to release a better and more modern version of the box type car to the country.  Nissan is pretty strict in keeping the Cube and details about it secret.  One thing stands out from looking at the Cube site from Nissan though; the cube will be a hip car catering for the younger Facebook going crowd.

Down below are pictures of the Nissan Cube concept.  What Nissan reveals on the 19th might or might not be the same as these, but the prototype sure looks promising.

Nissan 2009 Cube Front

Honestly, the front of the car, I hope, is better than this concept.  This is just a little unattractive.

Nissan 2009 Cube Back

The backside also have those not so sightly holes which I don’t think looks that good.

Nissan 2009 Cube Side

What made this shot interesting was when I saw the person inside.  That just gave me an idea on how small this car is.  I think it being this small gives it “awesomeness” points.  This will surely become something fit for students or the hip and savvy crowd.

Nissan 2009 Cube Dash 2

I like how modern it looks and if it is touchscreen, that is just uber cool.  I am not sure about the Drive, Neutral and Reverse push buttons though.  I still prefer the throttle.

Nissan 2009 Cube Interior

Looks like there is enough space inside given its size.

Nissan 2009 Cube Fridge

Another plus points for the cool box. :)   Small things like this just makes it live to its promise of being a “fun” car.

Nissan 2009 Cube Under the Hood

Did we mention it being an electric car?

So far we can only wait how the real Cube will look like once it is introduced here.  I just hope the real one will become amazing.  Nissan surely has a lot to do given that even before the release of the Cube, box type cars like the Scion xB, which have been tested as more powerful in terms of performance already exist in the market.

Why not let us know what you think by adding your own comment! Your opinion is as valid as anyone elses, so come on... let us know what you think.

Caution to all about doing business with Auto Parts Giant. Look them up on the Better Business Bureau Website for greater LA. They are rated “F”. My experience has been very bad. Ordered a tail light in June, never delivered and no refund. Engaged complaint thru BBB and they admit never delivered, but claim credit was issued. I have proof it was not, but looks like I will have to go to court to get my $114 back. Make up your own mind, but I would be cautious.

Hmm, I think the comment is a little out of place. Still, I find it funny how a company can let $114 ruin a relationship with a customer perhaps forever. Sorry for your trouble Lindsay.
