Do We Love Car Accidents?
This clip is just funny. What I appreciate about it is the fact that Dane Cook, in a very comic manner, makes a funny moment out of a very bad situation. I think that learning to not sweat over the small stuff is something that everyone should strive to learn.
It is funny how sometimes people will kill for a dent in their car or for pride when someone cuts them off. If one can laugh at problems like those, we will save a lot of our time instead of crying over spilt milk.
Thinking of things like “Will this matter a year from now?” or “Is this battle worth pursuing or should I just let it go?” will really help a lot.
The best test comes when one is in the situation other than as a bystander looking from the outside. To acknowledge that nobody likes accidents to happen, neither you nor the other person, is a good first step towards keeping ourselves from unnecessary stress.
I have been thru an ordeal once where a friend and I were driving and we cut this guy and raced him to the traffic light. We we’re having fun and laughing when the pissed off guy started attacking us. The whole incident ended with a crushed car door, a torn off bumper for the other guy, a police report and threats of jail.
If the other guy has learned to dismiss us as some crazy teenagers and not given in to road rage, we could have saved ourselves a lot of time and money.
In the future, I have come to the resolution to keep myself on the outside. That means that the next time someone cuts me or dents my car I’ll just mumble some threats in clenched teeth. Breathe deeply, count to ten and let things go. Which reminds me, I have to take the brass knuckles from my glove compartment and replace it with a stress ball.
